At the first sign of a cold sore, use a mixture of 2 drops of Bergamot and 2 drops of Lavender, 1 drop of Eucalyptus and 1 drop of Tea Tree, diluted in 1 tsp (5 ml) of vodka. Dab this on the cold sore frequently, until it disappears.
If the blister develops and becomes painful, alternate neat Lavender (applied on a cotton swab) with the alcohol mixture given above.
